Show notes

From Doubt to Drive - Entrepreneurs Only.

This week with Richard Bergfors, CEO of MAX Burgers (www.maxburgers.com) Richard Bergfors and his brother Christoffer lead the Swedish restaurant group MAX Burgers togehter. Their parents founded the first burger restaurant in 1968 in the north of Sweden. Today, the brand counts more than 170 stores, 7.400 employees and has 400 Mio Euro in revenue. Richard is a strong value-driven leader who transformed MAX into a carbon-negative company – even though their core product is made from beef.

In this episode Richard talks about his leadership style, the importance of good communication, and how crucial it is to put his employees first.

The main learnings from this conversation are:

  1. Business is what we enjoy and what we are passionate about
  2. Talk together: communicate and try to be as open and frank as possible
  3. Understand the problem you cause and then start small to change it.
  4. You are always too late. Make a checklist
  5. Look forward, forward, forward
  6. Have greater people around you than yourself
